painted with shades of black and blue
garishly decorated with loudly framed invectives
no doors or windows are allowed
the only comfort to be found in the box
is in the proximity of the containment

accustomed to the darkness
her daytimes forgot freedom, forgot fairness
her nighttimes failed to remember
the truth in love’s touch
reluctance turned to readiness
as heaps of blame filled her box

suggestions of light and air find their way in
from time to time by those
who concern themselves with her and her box
but the sharp uncomfortable
points of contention are quickly countered by
her captor’s unrelenting censure

securely positioned in the middle she cowers
out of reach of any and all external forces
resolutely denying the reality
of the support and salvation that exist
if only she will take a step
outside the box

Oh this aches hon..
and as for the boxes?  I tend to step out of them from time to time, and sometimes...

I don't step back in either..

Hugs hon.

I really want to care,
I want to feel something,
let me dig a little deeper
nah, still nothing~
my give a DAMN is busted. Jodee

Okay.... No more Mr. Nice Guy... I'm off to steal a wrecking ball... we'll knock such big holes in those walls a tank could drive through. *S*

And you know I joke because the alternative is crying... this touches deeply.

thank you both ladies, but let me enter a disclaimer *s* .....this is not me....or should I say, this WAS me before I took the needed step, I wrote this because of my daughters friend who is in a bad situation and we can't seem to find a way to help her.....sigh

Not sure which I appreciate more...

the aching sensitivity of the write...
[thank you God, for letting her write!]

or suthern's response, which I ditto wholeheartedly!

I'm so glad this isn't you anymore. I think it's a place all of us find ourselves at some point. A desperate, desolate, and sad place.

I hope this girl is willing to accept the things around her, soon, and take a hand to find her way out.

Excellent write.

Always, Alyssa
