Emotions wash over me
Wave upon wave
Sand and water
A mixture of feelings
Churning inside of me

I gasp for air
Only to drink down
More of my bitter regret
My eyes sting from the salt
Making it hard to see

What made me think
I was ever qualified to
Walk on water or even attempt
To calm the sea
The water seeps into me

I sink deeper into despair
No longer able to breathe air
The last bubble escapes me
My lungs feel the burden
Unable to be free

The sea becomes a buffer
Drowning out all sounds
No more will tears be seen
Upon my face blended into
The surroundings one by one

Your love like the ocean
Has overwhelmed this man
Never will I be so willing
I have lost myself
I have become undone
