So fair the breeze of quiet ease
That swings the garden gate

Two entities pursue reprieves
Suggesting leaves in wait

The afternoon passed by too soon
The sun plays in subdue

A far off loon sings soft her tune
And lingers twilight hue

The sun moves on and shadows don
The setting light to lie

And almost gone we move along
To greet the moon’s soft sigh

Then looking up my hands to cup
A distant saddened tear

For as we know, the moon’s soft glow
Portends the end is near

Yet here we are from journeys far
To sit content and close

Just listening to evening sing
A time to treasure most

Soft perfection. Much enjoyed. hugs, Chris

Old style porches and swings....such a most
fine way to spend an afternoon and evening.
Absorbing, listening and basking in the
moment...  You could do that, couldn't you?
