It's way too late for me
to protect my identity.
Social (in)security.

My numbers have been out there
since the 'good old days'
when people stole mostly cash
or tangible goods like cars
...not numbers.

How many years have I willingly exposed myself
to a long list of possible thieves?
Too many to count.
Every time some government or bank asked,
I gave. And gave and gave and gave.
My numbers are out there.

Protect your Social Security.
Protect your numbers.
Is there a hidden message in there,
from the powers-that-be warning me
"Be careful who gets your numbers?"

These days are certainly not days of
"security" with the "insecurity" that we
derive....  Do most certainly agree with you.

You are needlessly worried Ma'am.
We are going to protect you in a better way.
Now please Ma'am,
for today alphabetically is YOUR day;
just sit in this chair and drink your tea
while this new fangled PC
puts your very own individualized
bar code tattoo on your forearm.
This is going to solve ALL your identity problems
you can even buy your groceries,
AND speed up airport check-in.
We will help remind you when your cash is short
or some one you pissed off sends us a report,
and your guns must be turned in,
there now,
you'll blend in with the rest of us.
Be BRAVE now,
you know it is a NEW WORLD!
You'll see.
It will only sting when you remember
...once there was a country flawed, but free.

LOL at your reply, icebox. Enjoyed your view!
Thanks, Barry, for your read and reply. I just don't worry about the numbers anymore, and don't rely on the government for 'security.' Subsistence support...maybe.

I suppose as long as others can steal or create false identification numbers with no fear of punishment, or minor punishment, they will continue to do so...James
