(Also a very serious look at CHIVALRY)

Of Chivalry we speak - in such grave tone
As if it lay buried underneath a stone —
Just when thought all dragons committed ‘drag-on-cide’
Seems one errant beast is still roaming countryside —

And if upon a roasted Knight you should accidently trip -
Of your dragon's wisdom you should take a sip -
Surely you must know to put your claws to use
—Just rip the helmet off - and light the fuse!

Dragons - a fearsome lot?
They merely filled a sacrificial slot
some poor unfortunate beast
of which none feared, not the least.
And of the constant roar and fire
soon the populace would bore and tire
- So sent a knight, who half asleep
dispatched from the castle’s keep
and burdened with the armour’s weight
pretended to be easy bait...
And so the dragon lumbered out
for easy prey and rapid bout
- When to the dragon’s grim surprise
his head is gone - he promptly dies...

Someone had to be the goat,
his head carried over moat...

Oh, yes, the Virgin, and the sport...
The villagers had heard report -
That She had noted the dragon’s roar
was nothing but a boorish snore...

But let’s look at it from a modern point of view -
The Knights still roam, but bid armour adieu
For what modern Knight must fight
The dragons from within and out of sight

No scales, no claws, no breath of fire
Only thoughts of greed and false desire
Damsels in distress? Long gone from fashion;
A Virgin tied to tree - long evaporated ration —

What Chivalry remains, into heart be taken;
A word to a Lady be not shaken
What was with sword - now with word is wrought
Of truest deed and tender respect thought

But not much has changed - for the Lady still
Her Prince Charming seeks, in her heart and in her will
— And the Knight his Queen he dreams to cherish —
For Chivalry is live and shall not perish.....

Sir Gawain  Its been too long!!!!

Its been many years now since we met
I thought that all the Knights were dead
The Damsels walking down the street
Are not like those we used to meet
And Arthurs gone....does he just sleep
Like Merlin ... gone to forrest deep

Me..... I wait here in my cave
Remembering the Knights so brave
The grail you sought for all those years
The chivalry that died in tears

Arthur the King who led the way
With Genevieve his Queen by day
Remember mighty Lancelot
The shining Knight of Camelot

And how can we forget Morgain
The cause of all the useless pain
The table where you made your vows
Is just a distant memory now

But you... You interupt my sleep
Maybe its time for us to meet
We've watched the death of chivalry
Now there's no place for you or me

Find your armour and your sword
Take your lance... and rig your horse
Then go to where the eagles fly
I'll be waiting there...on high

And once again... like at the start
The rage of battle in our hearts
We will meet and play the game
One final time.... a last refrain
Ok Found out how to work this thing properly
