Blue’s Serenade

and she wrote such, that
I saw a slip of a girl
at the shoreline,
straining to wear lacy
sea glints in her hair,
foam tingling
her skin

I saw hazel eyes searching
horizons far and away
from her footprints

as the wind
played her strands of hair,
wisping curls
‘round flushed cheeks

I sensed her time, then ~
aching for all, now,
knowing later,
soon

I saw a slip of a girl age
there at the shoreline,
gray glinting in her hair,
still tingling
from the foam of an ancient
sea…

I reached for her ~
a fluid embrace

and felt the invisible warmth
of a lover’s touch.

Some of us add our best poetry, and that helps make the PiP experience worthwhile. Some add the best of poetry and a special kiss of personality that changes the very fabric of the place for the better -- worthwhile and good....

That's our Blues.

Hello, dear friend.  Please pardon my absence from you for so long.  Something called me back today...and I am glad I heard the whispers.  Your words are even more exquisite than I remembered.

Sissie

What a lovely lovely picture you have painted of our Blue's Serenade.  The vision of before and after is so in tune with the depth of time.  Amazing!

To me, the true gift of poetry is to inspire another poet, and it's all the more special when it's someone like you.  You warmed my heart with your poetic reply, it was meant to be a poem, and find a place all it's own.  I especially love the image of a child/woman standing at the edge of the shore, a slip of a girl with sea glints in her hair...... you are lovely Karilea.  Your poem leaves me with a sense of calm and peacefullness this morning. Thank you for your gentle touch, and for sharing all the beauty that surrounds you.  Happy Easter to you and yours.
