Saluting with misty eyes

Noah made this challenge just over 2 years ago, and I thought it was good enough to bring back... Besides ,I hear the song that inspired this the other day and it always reminds me of my children who don't care that I'm a rock/wrestling star. /pip/Forum7/HTML/000537.html

Did you ever know you're my hero?
As I stand on this stage
All eyes ablaze with the hopes
Brought on by the star of the show
Their cheers, voices raised
Straining to send their love my way
Yet you don't care
It is just a game to you
Having known me since before the lights
Of fame touched my face
You care not
Of the games I have to play
Staying on top
You just don't care
For that you have my love
Deep and eternal
With the loving thanks
Greatful
For the solid ground you provide
The earth I remain anchored to
As my head floats through the clouds
With a simple word
Daddy
You keep me real

Dedicated to my kids

In the wooden chair
Beside my window
I wear a face born in the falling rain

Yes, it is good enough to bring back.

Your response is way more than good enough to read.  Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you to all for reading this little scribble and for being kind enough to respond. It felt good to be able to be creative again.

Ringo, you are more than a star ~ You're a loving and caring Dad!

I enjoy the earthy realism to your poetry.

This poem will surely be treasured by your kids of their Dad.

This is wonderful Ringo. So glad that I didn't let it slip by. Hugs, Chris

Once again, I thank you all for your kind words. It is bringing a smile to my fave, because I JUST got off the phone with my kids (both of them) right before I logged on.

Thanks again, and a thousand hugs to all
