I swallowed
the moon tonight,

so when you looked up,
you would see me
and nothing else,

so you would see me
breathing life
into the wounded sky,

i swallowed
the moon tonight,

so when you looked up
you would see me
and nothing else.

I'd say you could probably manage that without swallowing any light-source at all...just rely on your natural radiance...

Michelle, this is so sweet.
I really like the idea of
being able to swallow the moon
to have the brightness of it.
But, Like the others said, you already
have a brilliance from your personality.
Hugs,
Ethel

Beautiful.....

So many moons floating;
in the midst of frozen dreams
...wind-rippled pond.

Ahhh I like this one pretty lady.
But you shine brightly all on your own.

Michelle, I've been wanting to read this since I first saw the title, and here I am, late...

but thankful that I read this. I do enjoy so much titles that catch my attention...and better yet, their poems that make me say, "yes...s/he did it...."

Thank you for an enjoyable read.

Oh yes...thank you for the keeper, too.

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?  Keeping in mind, I must stand close...and keep my promises...

That's all I want him to see is me and no one else.  I loved the feel of your words.  Someday i will swallow a moon.

Now you've done all you can do.  Looking up is up to him.  Good job.  KJ
