She wrote herself with graceful curves
On lines of ink across my own
As she read from them with a touch
To feel the spaces in between
    And ride the currents
From soft summer days I’d spent
  Gathering sun

Then read them back to me
With soft rolled r’s and gentle s’s
That pleased the texture of vowels
Hugged in their arms
  As I held calm
Trying to keep the tangle of verbs
Wanting issue checked
          For punctuation points
So that if I interrupted
What came out was not harshly graded

Indelibly inscribed
With pin pricks that drive the stain
Under my flesh

I felt the meaning
       Before she finished

               And cried
Soft years not yet spoken
     And wondered to myself quietly

How might I heal
             What she said had broken
In her years ago

As I waited again for her to
          Write her soul
                                 On mine

Soft touches to the heart strings stirring lovely - very nice -

Susan

BBG... (chuckling)  you are being kind ma'am... this does not have any of the qualities of your own offering over in MC...
I don't have that kind of talent..or fire..

Ms Susan... heart lines.... yeah once in a while someone writes on ours.. rarely are we able to read what they wrote until the ink has dried...

MS. Nancy.... you ma'am are one of the nicest people I think I've ever met... you'd have to be...to keep saying such nice things about what I write..

Thank you ladies... just a Friday afternoon remembering.... and my efforts to capture those memories....

you're all very indulgent of me... so I thank you

Indulgent?  Ron,  is that your modesty
showing? NOT!

Well done Captain, sir.  A good memory you
have shared.

Ms Sunny one...
there are other words that can be applied to it as well... incomplete, predictable, disjointed, probably more appropriate... but I thank you for yours..

Oh, sure, in your journal, possibly...

I thought you knew by now...
I'm but one of many fans...

now that should cool the blush.

Face it.  WE think you're good.
So, please, pleasure our eyes some more...

or when you are so inclined.

AND...IWIHWT...

Smiling, because I believe you would.

Beautiful Sir Ron.

One of the things I have always admired about your poetry is the evident ease of the write.  Nothing about any of your writes that I can recall ever seems forced and that to me is a mark of a true poet.  Excellent post sir and I very much enjoyed the read.
