Unknowns lie “In Flanders Fields”
They gave for us their wartime shields.
The “war to end all wars” has passed,
But history has now recast;
The mold for war is not the past.
Today the guns kill Tigris yields.

That verse in the Bible should have read (i)"The wars you always have with you"(/i)....

But -- though the presence of war seems not to have changed, the reasons for it have become a whole lot more civilized. Imagine the Roman army going to Iraq to do what we're doing, and then to rebuild the place and leave....or the German army, for that matter.

We still have growing to do, but at least we're choosing better.
