Overlapping coral trees
Accumulating interpretations
Swaying to the ebb and flow
Impotent aficionado
Pinning the tale on a donkey
Liquefying a shattered chest
Sorry fields we plant?
Composting draftiness

What runs off aloofness?
Splintered bones walking through earth
Stroking crude remunerations
Single-mindedly driving limos through
The Fourth of July

Discourse of half-way houses
Hunger for family picnics
Recalling small-town parades
Dismantling rehabilitation

Charcoal pencils filled with cob webs
In the basement of Van Gogh
Spelling expressionism wrong?
Endangering the power of connection
Creating a Fourth World fowl
Stinking of rotted flesh and the afterbirth
Of delusions returning to intelligence

The pain of waking minds
When lying comes to rest
Grieving with fear, with secrets
Under coats of black

Transforming seers to meltdown
Oh how we used to pair
By the lake where the peepers sang
On an old porch with a swing
Dreaming bout the fortunes we owned
Inside our childhood springs
Where syrup runs
Into plastic containers
Pinned to rows of maple trees
Somewhere down yonder
A long time ago

LeeJ,
Indeed. And how interesting we were reading each other's poetry simultaneously! Thanks for this and have a great day.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Lee

Your real deep talent is starting to come out

I've always like your work yet needed to work on it to find meaning upon meaning with the complexity

It is almost as if you have posted your colours on a pole and glorious colours they are
