When in the heart lies drought, doubt the dry voice that flakes as finely as the dark skin of snakes shed their arid weight...a risky incarnation for the absorbant fate night brings, to slow the way and ease love's sudden path to the sullen heart, when with the avid hand you lean inward, sink into the lungs warm and so gently move into the veins, to murmur over the impatient incarnation of a dark child in whom love is fearless and drawn from the insatiable core of midnight's resources, whose sore eyes burn malachite and invite the night before darkness ever falls, then to the hawk is given its incarnation, my soul on its own wing, the wing in flight, the flight filled with a will more breath than might, as the heart longs to be still, and still be satisfied. 2004 copyright babygirLPress **Intoxicant to the SouL** |
