Until That Day
By Larry Chadwick

I have not seen heaven,
Yet at times I think it is near.
And I have not known eternity,
But I would like to hold it dear.

I live in a land of tears,
And long for heavens bliss.
My time is flying by,
If I blink I fear what I will miss.

My treasures are in a better place,
It seems you personally took them there.
While patiently I wait my turn,
I am sharing grace that I might assure my fare.

Until this weary travelers hears the call,
I will dutifully carry on.
But I long for a home without tears and time,
Where we can sing reunion’s song.

October 20, 2004

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry,
Very touching write.  Each birthday I become even more aware of thoughts of the afterlife.  Three more days to another aging point!  Can't say I like getting older, closer to heaven or ----.  Hoping it'll be the first!  Enjoyed.

Today is one of those 'anniversary of death' days for me... you know how that works. So this has special meaning for me right now. Lovely penning. Thank you dear sir

Always, Alyssa

Remember the game, Larry?  Play the game
with me now...the "don't blink" game...
the first one that blinks, loses...

and I rarely lost....

oops!

Cathy,
Well...birthdays beat the alternatives! And thank you.

Allysa,
I'm sorry for your loss. Yup I know. And thank you for the read.

Karilea,
Yup I know the game. Thanks for the fun and the read.

Larry,

I love how you wove the words together...a home without tears and time would indeed be a great place to go to...and what a glorious reunion it would be
