Pressing

I know all about urgency
the very pull of the moon
to hurry through the day
to be with the edge of darkness
to touch the tips of fire
and it’s smoldering burn
waxes tender caress of melt
a night stirred with no sleep
where breath is the dark’s lullaby

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart
