Ode to Fellow Leaf Stompers

The crinkly, crackly sound
of parchment leaves
being stomped, crushed,
and crumbled
is a happy sound.
It is a sound
unique to Autumn.
Only during the fall
can vibrant colors
be made to pop and snap,
and make rosy-cheeked
leaf stompers smile.
Those who produce
Autumn's chorus
are truly happy
in fall.

Amanda, this is so beautiful in it's sounds and colour.
Reminds me of Halloween when the little ones crunch the leaves
running from house to house.
Excellent write..and love the new pic!
Hugs~

Like kids in boots jumping in puddles.

I always think gardening and they will mulch down for spring.

They provide a haven for things to survive and keep things alive for the birds and animals to snuff.

Dont jump too much they feed a lot.

thank ye!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Nice images and sounds in this one.  Brings the kid out as you read it.  Enjoyed much.
