Listening to every heart

The Signs [Wranx’ Masquerade Challenge]

She stepped into me easily,
like rocking chair creaks that come
simple to ear, feathering quietly
tones of knowing in all that was unsaid.

Crinkles around her eyes spoke to me
of signs she had seen, even though unspoken,
and she must, I could imagine, have felt “something”

as she drifted effortlessly into my ways.

Quiet is too comfortable when one
hears easy heartbeats, I cared not
that she fingered my possessions
of yesterday, feeling pulses long absent,
of times well spent          too soon.

She left before time ticked, it seemed,
will o’the wisp moments consumed,
rock steady when palming my heart,
a blink in sunlight             and gone.

Know it she does, I need her
even more, now
that she has vanished…

for a promise is still to be kept
upon the mountain.

Truth in writing, I tried to write this from Martie's shoes...I tried to see me the way she might have...I will never know exactly how she saw me, I can only write from the way I felt...and she felt me quite well, in the quiet of her eyes, and the calm of her heart, which beats, of course, by bird time...

fast, and quiet....

Karilea/ sissy

You have made my eyes dew up with this one...just like I felt about you, dear lady...right down to the...
"for a promise is still to be kept
upon the mountain."  And so it will be, not tomorrow on Michelle's birthday, but when you are here next time...which I know you will be.  Thank you for your sensitive touch and  your loving heart.

This seems like a perfect day for this particular poem....from this particular lady, and of this particular lady....for that particular lady....

Beautifully and understandingly done.
