The Unfulfilled Caress

If I place so much
value upon a kiss
and I have not the
pleasure of her lips
upon which to place
that kiss, what will
become of my desire,
what sacrifices will
be required to gain
the affection of one
so desirable to me,
dare I be forced to
live without her,
sans the desire and
in lack of tenderness,
drowning in the
emptiness of the
unfulfilled caress.
