Between the Lines

Blinded

The last straw...I sip from,
the one that is cinched
to let in no air...
It is there that your words
have been sucked into
and those of mine say
"I no longer care."

When the notion of loving you
becomes an ocean of twisted threads
when the words are "bigger than"
and the song becomes titled "To Dread"

There are no words
that can take it away...
the hurt of the uncounted kind.
So the threats of replacement with others
is sewn deeply into this mind.

The last straw...I sip from
leaves a poison taste
to the tongue.
Untitled, this heart that once loved
even though, just because,
maybe, perhaps
... no longer
is one to be won.

"Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less."

wonderful writing

The last straw...I sip from
leaves a poison taste
to the tongue.

it blows, when it has to be so harsh and bitter, no redeeming value in the initial  good feelings and expectations about the person.

SEA, thank you for the read and comment...sometimes the lack of emotion from one can make me lose hope.

Rex, so nice to see you..I hope you have been well   sometimes it is just in my imagination, these feelings I feel or lack, may be my own fault of being too sensitive and not the result of the real.

Michele, it's those expectations...I have to learn to not have any ~~
I like how you can always read between my lines...thanks

Dave, I always enjoy your comments.
Thank you for being here.

The last straw is the last straw. Very well expressed, Maureen!
