Sorry... I rarely repost anything, yet on the way in this morn the report I heard related to political ads and how decpetive they are in using only part of the story.. no matter who's side they are in support of.. reminded me of this.. and that perhaps we will never learn...

Coyote was
At a time when all
Things were different
Not the trickster
He is today.

Once he stood
In the center of the circle
And was honored for
His courage and
Stature

In the days
When man was still
One of the tribes,
A young chief came
To the center
And spoke,
While standing in
Coyotes shadow

This young man
Had traveled far in
His quest to stand
At the center of all things
So Coyote’s shadow
Was welcome relief
From the burning
Sun.

But as time
Passed, the young chief
Grew restless with
Having his view
Of the east blocked
By Coyote as he
Stood and spoke to
The day

Coyote
Turned his back
On the young chief
For a moment, and
When he turned around
He saw the man had stolen
His shadow and left.

Upset coyote vowed
To leave the center of
All things and the wheel
Which turns upon itself
To track down this
Man

For many days
Coyote journeyed
To the tribe of man
And finally entered
The village of the chief.

Confronting him,
Coyote asked where
His shadow was and why
Had man stolen it?

The chief looked
At coyote with pale eyes
And told him his shadow
Had been given over to night
In return for a new bride
Which he had wed
And now carried
His child.

He then told coyote
That he knew where
Night kept his shadow,
But he would have to promise
Never to stand in the center
Of all things again
If he wished to
Find it.

Coyote howled
Despairing over his loss,
But agreed.

Now man
Stands at the center
Of the wheel
And coyote searches
The darkness
For shades of grey
That are his shadow

Stopping now
And again
To mourn to
The laughing
Moon

I remember this [I rarely forget any of yours] and it is metaphorically on target...

as always.

It's good to see you back in here...
if only to repost that which would make
us turn and look and DECIDE on how we
will conduct business from this point
forward.

As always, well done...
and welcome home.

thanks for indulging me ladies...

the return, I fear is short lived and that in and of itself is probably for the best..lol.. less of my drivel to choke the board..and lord knows there is enough of it I have posted here.

Sunshine... you my friend are always too kind in reply, and in credit.. but you know the replies are appreciated and that they do mean a great deal to me. I'll be in and out a bit for a while, but, since I am now my only staff...I must discipline myself to keep head down and fingers working, and not on writing for my own pleasure..

thank you..

Ms Blue... you young lady... are a rare treat to read. Thank you for the time you've spent reading my own brand of madness.. and for the beauty you have added to my day with the words you share... If you feel masochistic, you can always go into the archives and read more of my drivel..lol.. and along the way.. if you take a look around see who the real poets are on here..
hugs... for the kindness...

thank you..

now..I am off to play like I know what I am doing in real life... what was that??? oh yeah.. firs tthings first... more coffee... then I'll decide what it is I'm supposed to know and do....

tsk tsk, apologizing for a repost . . .
sheesh . . .

lesson learned Ron, thank you
What an enlightening fable (?)
*smile*

He then told coyote
That he knew where
Night kept his shadow,
But he would have to promise
Never to stand in the center
Of all things again
If he wished to
Find it.

How darn suiting to the times.  I don't comment on all of your work but I am sure you are aware that I wouldn't miss one word.  Head down, and back to work now Ron.
