Listening to every heart

Seeing Tomorrow

The Smoky Valley lights fall in subtle scene,
the greens are fading, and gold turns rust,
long shadows line the last of day
and point it into the night,
windbreaks are ready for snow.

The sky awaits a star show.

Someone will come soon to gather bales,
and in months to come, under snow,
or hard icy rain, some cows and calves
will be grateful for the summer’s harvest
munching away on that which crickets
sang under, and butterflies hovered over.

                                                                       Moon shine encourages shadows.

It doesn’t really matter at all that this day ends,
for everyone knows I believe in tomorrow…
as even in the subtlety of fall, truth is
wildflowers will glow radiant again,
trees will climb verdant, fawns will be hidden
in lush bluestem, as

In two hearts, tomorrows are seen.

AHA!!  I knew it......
your muse has returned....
and just as good as ever...

The greatest beauty on earth, is
found in the hearts of those
who love....

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.

Methinks the world needs a new word for some of your writing and I think "Prairiescape" fills the bill.  This is gorgeous and a beautiful dedication too.  KJ

Sunshine,
I love the imagery of the hayfields, their future and past with crickets and cattle!  You are such a positive thinker and poet!  Enjoying all.

Sometimes it's hard to see through the bleak... to know that bright will come again... What a beautiful reminder this is! *S*

How did I miss this?  Maybe because today is when I needed to read it.  Uplifting, for sure!
