~~~ ~~~
The sky wore
a suit of
grey flannel
to-day.
Clouds heavy laden
with snow
without wind
crawled their way.
Over the river
frozen in time.
It's shoreline
a necklace of
artistry sublime.
Over the trees
now just stick people
sketches.
Stiff, licorice
telephone wire,
and the voices
it catches.
Like drab,
bloated pillows,
as day becomes
night,
the clouds
an ashen
backdrop
for geese
in their flight.
From invisible pockets
lace confetti
is shaken.
Sugar coating
the earth -
Gift for
our eyes
when we
waken.
This sure does describe how it looks this morn Chris!
Not so much grey but white here...and lots of it.
Stay off those roads today if you can.
Love this piece....a keeper for sure!
it's 9 here...it was -4 this morning...but it may get to be a heat wave with temps in the 20's later...
Even in evergreen Oregon,
We may see snow today anon.
My shovel strong is tall and proud
I mutter and curse, not quite aloud.
But lowered skies and gusty howls
will wring from me some wrinkled scowls.
Desist, ye harridan of weather,
The while I get my act together.
This is a charming read, Chris, well done from an old snow country soul who learned that rain does not need shoveling. Ken
Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light
You saw so much more in the snow fall today than I did.  My focus seemed to be a sidewalk that needed to be cleared.  Next time I'll approach the task differently.
believe in what your heart feels...
scorpio, I guess I just never get bored of a good snowfall. Hate the shovelling afterwards...but it's nice to look at for awhile. Thanks & Hugs!
