I've seen the family, the family that is both yours and mine
Instead of feeling free though, I think I feel even more intwined
I do not hate you, I know that is what you must feel
I just don't know what to say to you, I'm not sure how to deal--

If we were to come face to face
Would you cry, would you recognize my face?
My eyes are the same I'm told
Would you ask God for forgiveness, and his loving Grace?

Or...would you laugh cold and hard at the goodness that I show
Hot tears sting my face
Why you ask?
Because I know it's something I'll never know

I've willed myself over the years
To not feel anything for you
Still though I hold so much within
And I wonder is feeling sorrow for you a sin?

If we were to come face to face
Would you pass me by without a second glance
And would I despite knowing what my mind tells me
want to give you a second chance?

I am not sure of many things, but this much I do know
We always reap the things that we sew
So I will continue to plant my seeds of love
I learned that from my Angel above

And...if we do ever come face to face
I'll put on a blank stare for you
For I wouldn't want you to know that despite everything
It's a little spark of kindness you see in my eyes of blue

Your poem is loving and heart felt.
It's a shame when we offer the olive branch
and it gets broken in two.

Hugs to you, Amy~

Thank you all for your continued words of support and love. This is about my birthmother, someone I should have stopped caring about long ago, but seem not to know how. Long and complicated story, and I thank you all for listening/reading.

Hugs,
Amy

Hugs Amy...and love your way...
I would hope that you would wait until you saw what was in her eyes, but I would have to guess the love would be in hers as it would be, in yours...
