Slipped Quicksand

“You can float, you know,”
words boomerang time
imaging squeak clean quick reaction…

You can float, you know!  As one does
when one quits struggled flailing
laying blunt side up, or down,
mattering not to rot
with quicksand elevating remaining thought…

I would slip quicksand to those who cannot rise
just for buoyancy and moment

when memories need to be ad / mired….

for who they were
why they did
and truth, teared,

for we struggle against what we don’t know,
regardless of what we acknowledge.

This....so utterly true....true enough to save a life, literally or figuratively.

It's good to hear your voice this morning -- any morning for that matter, but somehow this one in particular.

In the nicest possible way, your words reminded me of the opening to Blazing Saddles.

True quicksand is twice denser than we are and rarely deeper than a few feet, as harmless as the sand shifting under beach planted feet.

There is the mire of poverty, the fog of war, the muck of slander and being bogged down in the morass of divorce, legal or financial woes. In those more often sighted places one must struggle, to go belly up is doom.

As always a kind and uplifting write. As always appreciated.
