No mistletoe or Christmas tree
adorns my humble home
but inside there lies a memory
of how I loved you then
more meaningful than tinsel
and baubles on a tree.

In early preparation
wrapped gifts await the day,
the one not there for you
brings a sadness to my eyes
at the time of my midnight
when memory opens doors
but I’m thankful for the dawn
and the warmth of no recall
in the now begun countdown
to the culmination of it all.

I’ve been wishing to make sense
of this Christmas spirit
illusive in the under currents
of every person’s feel
pulling me off course
from what appears to be.

‘tis the season to be jolly
and it’s there in life’s prospectus
promising so many things
yet waiting to deliver
but the book of life at least half true
when children knock on doors
and play the game of substitute
for a woman’s need.

Arrive alive, don’t drink and drive,
merry Christmas one and all.
May the illusive spirit
be true through the New Year
and give to each and everyone
the gift of honesty!

Dear Helen

Many people feel sad at Christmas time with the missing of lost loves, and the inability to make Christmas what it seems like it should be in the heart.  The gift of honesty is a good one, to give to those around you and also to yourself.  I think I will give that gift too.  I wish you the very best, may you be blessed with poetry and thought and peaceful sleep, and moments of joy!

One of the greatest gifts you have is your beautiful self. People come and go in our lives, but our inner self is a true, and life-long, friend. Be good to her, Bunches of Honey! She is very special!

Sending you some loving warmth and wishes for a Christmas that feeds your spirit and a new year full of promise and wonderful new experiences.

God bless you!
Love & Light,
EA

One very key sentence in here

....But I'm thanful for the dawn......

Tremendous write...
