the side that I read

that you were lovely
as a lady

when you wore the gown
with a neckline heaven
that revealed a woman there
trapped in pretend
wanting to be free
with her feet braless
bare foot running
on the sinful sand

your perfume too
was something unsaid
unspoken the scent
no one would remember it
but could recognize it
on another's skin
if they were close enough
to feel the lonely

I spilled your tea
on purpose there
so you had to move
without thinking
and your woman was exposed
for just a moment
but I grabbed her hand
and wouldn't let her go back

she still struggles in love
