My own dear heart, part of me
How confusing it can be
Continuing in missing you
I have no grasp on reality
Wanting rather how it should be
Entangled in simply missing you
Wanting you
Needing to
Hold you one more time
One more time would evolve
Into a forever time
For these arms that held you
From the moment there was you
Cannot let you go
Acid rain falls down my cheeks
My gaping wounded heart continues to beat
The same beat
Missing you, wanting you
Forever.. and always ..

a note for ya'll.. yesterday, for no apparent reason at all.. I found myself sobbing again.. and repeating over and over... I just want to hold you... "one more time"...

I suppose it is the fact that it was her son's birthday October 9th.. or the fact that the holidays are coming up... or simply the fact that having lost a child a part of you is also truly lost.. forever...

trying to make sense of it, however.. does not make sense..

it simply is

Let Evening Come

Let the light of late afternoon
shine through chinks in the barn, moving
up the bales as the sun moves down.

Let the cricket take up chafing
as a woman takes up her needles
and her yarn.  Let evening come.

Let dew collect on the hoe abandoned
in long grass.  Let the stars appear
and the moon disclose her silver horn.

Let the fox go back to its sandy den.
Let the wind die down.  Let the shed
go black inside.  Let evening come.

To the bottle in the ditch, to the scoop
in the oats, to air in the lung
let evening come.

Let it come, as it will, and don't
be afraid.  God does not leave us
comfortless, so let evening come.

ya think????

There is comfort in remembering
We flip through picture albums
Glad to have them
Musing, musing, remembering
Sometimes laughing, crying too
We watch VCR tapes, now a treasure
For there we are, you are
Caught in film
We can see you
With this blessed technology
We can even hear you
  but we cannot hold you
Some losses are comfortless

There are things in life that we must endure which
are all but unendurable, and yet I feel there is a great goodness.
Why, when there could have been nothing, is there something?  This
is a great mystery.  How, when there could have been nothing, does it
happen that there is love, kindness, beauty?
