Winter arrives prematurely, in its delivery at my backporch tonight, and right on cue, the band of 6, strays on my steps and waits for me, the closest facsimile they have, for the mother that abanonned them, the backdoor squeaks on the hinge's hand, and they come running, knowing soon their bellies will soothe of the ache they carry, in this life of the less fortunate ones, i do want i can for them, while the others on the congregation of condos, probably wish they were roadkill by now, the leaves are still shedding, making a harem of fallen angles around the base of the tree master, the rain may come tonight, and bead the barren branches in the spaces where purple hearts once bled before they were discarded, it's all about flipsides and balance and replacement parts and eulogies and resurrections that swing on the spiral, *** and these winter strays that holler with premonition, and of fallen angels that sometimes end up wearing blood on their hands. **kudos to tool's lateralus** [This message has been edited by inkedgoddess (11-28-2004 09:38 PM).] |

raising a glass to Tool and also this: knowing soon their bellies will soothe of the ache they carry, in this life of the less fortunate ones, goodness, what a horribly sad fantastic stanza . . . and here: fallen angels that sometimes end up wearing blood on their hands your spirit clutches such simple words by the throat and shakes them silly. |

This really fits the mood I have been in lately. I feel like "roadkill." But, I will get over it because there are people around like you to "do what you can." (Thank the heavens!) |
