a morning day with tin handles
and unlocked locks
just a sunday high away
from sink heart broken
or door bell giddy up

you spoke of vulnariblity
I guess like virginity
one would cry at the loss
of modest prevention
with warm veils

I made a tree out of dimes
and splintered it at the phone
by the candy store you owned
talking to you in your sleep
with my hands over your ears

lest I wake the lady
with flannel feet
and I hate my velcro fur
when we embrace
and you have to pull away

for a date with your other hero

Hey Stranger

loved this...especially:

"from sink heart broken
or door bell giddy up"

I have those things, but never would have thought to name them.

In my sleep laden reads this morning, I missed this one - interesting imagery here - sorry about the velcro fur - ouch.  And the lady with the flannel feet - hehe - we'll let her sleep

Hugs you -   Susan
