Oh no, Girl, I hear you took my world again Broke it down and spit it in my face Funny how it makes things clear Shows me which lines to erase Life is our own endless puzzle Me, I keep on learnin’ But you just wander with eyes closed Not wanting this diversion So it’s a shame that I once cared And even dared to love Watching as the smoke cleared up And brought this portrait of... Fireflies with angel eyes A fairytale where no one cries… “She never did exist But you couldn’t resist… Fireflies with angel eyes” You’re just you again Now…more mistakes are on the way Pushing down the throttle You can drown, but you can’t hide Inside your poison bottle And you can act like its okay, The past is just a blur Painting pictures of a dream That wasn't really “her” But that girl was a friend of mine In fact…a little more She was everything to me She was you before... Fireflies with angel eyes A fairytale where no one cries… “She never did exist But you couldn’t resist… Fireflies with angel eyes” You're just you again So…even though I want you still And always hold you tight Cupid’s arrows cannot reach A target out of sight But maybe we’re both better off And I could use this space To find new lines to walk across And new lines to erase But I will not forget this path That dared my heart to love... Oooh...I dared to love I dared to love Watching as the smoke has left This final portrait of... Fireflies with angel eyes A fairytale where no one cries… “She never did exist And you... Andrew, once again,this is another beautiful work that you have created. You're words of heartache are always so fresh and different with all of your writing and I admire your originatlity, especially in this piece. The imagery was awesome! Hopefully I'll have some new work up soon so you can reply back, thanks again, Andrew...you ROCK! |
