Let me love you from a distance...
Darling, don't turn me away.
I believe our love was destined,
No matter what you say.

There's a longing in my bosom,
You might even term it "pain",
Each response that I receive, dear,
Only serves to fan the flame.

When you wrote to me, "I love you."
I was nearly overcome.
I saved it for dark hours,
When there seems to be no sun.

In my mind we'll sit together...
I will gently take your hand,
And affirm that you're my woman,
And assure you I'm your man.

And despite the time and distance-
I will be there, dear, for you.
I'll be standing in the shadows,
When the day is finally through-

The breeze that touches gently,
Is merely my caress-
And the pillow where you rest your head,
I actually my breast...

And the last word in your ear, love,
When day is finally o'er-
Is, "Sleep tight, little darling-
Every day I love you more."
