Solitary leaf,
caught within time's wind,

where does it land,
if not upon our outstretched hand?

For whosoever begins the journey
to the center of the heart,

the leaf of love falls haphazardly,
and sometimes, not at all.

But that does not stop us
from heading out into the winds,

to seek and maybe find
what connects us, past and present,

to embrace and carry us lovingly forward
into the hopes for a gentler future.

Always such truths in your words.  I really appreciate what you write....and especially this solitary leaf!

smiling wide here

remind me to send you a pic...

*chuckle*

I felt so sorry for a solitary leaf (as in a wall hanging) that I felt a compulsion to hang another.

thanks Kacy...

so mellow, so smooth, this could be merlot.

hugs

AUTUMN

The leaves are falling, falling as if from far off,
as if in the heavens distant gardens withered;
they fall with gestures that say “no.”

And in the nights the heavy earth falls
from all the stars into aloneness.

We are all falling.  This hand is falling.
And look at the others: it is in them all.

And yet there is One who holds this falling
with infinite softness in his hands.

So blissful the fall of the solitary leaf.
You wrote this very well Kaci.
Always enjoy your vision.

A gentler future - I really like the sound of that -

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
