I wonder of myself these days.
Pieces seem scattered,
a mosaic of sorts.
Little reminders of what I used to be.

I gather, yet cannot connect,
edges far too sharp.
No discernable shape.

Some pieces
seem unbreakable,
a harden, crusted surface
formed to protect fragile
innocence of hope.

I wonder if tears could have softened
the not so malleable.
Giving shape and light
to something so rigid.

Knowing,
that source of moisture
long ago worn out by another life.

So I listen to you.
Wondering if it will ever be my turn
to talk,
to be heard,
to be understood.

Until then, the old dies,
leaving calloused particles
in their wake.

Somehow they just don’t fit
the same.

very sad....bittersweet, made me want to put my arm around you and listen closer.

Tremendous and also there is a bit of good advice burning within this one.

I hear you.  I understand.  This touches my heart.  Hugs to you--

very cool use of metaphor and personify Susan... love the theme and the mosaic imagery.

and that line I bolded is poetic perfection.
excellent writing. A bittersweet beauty.

I would love to live as a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding.

so many scattered pieces
sometimes never fitting again in the same way, sometimes easier to start again

One thing I learned about mosaic tile (besides how NOT to lift) was that while piecing together the broken bits, don't forget about that the grout will add to the beauty.

I learned, the hard way, it's best not to be too anal about it all, yanno?

Love ya Suze!

enjoyed.

Susan, you've read me enough now to know I know where you are coming from.  Tomorrow's a new day....I'm wishing you a brand new puzzle with all the pieces.   ....jo
