What speaks loudly, behind that unblemished face?
Naked particulars wake, when street lights whisper
Bombed on the lucky one, that one reckless ace
High School singers, holding microphones
Impulse roaming the front lawn
Congenial karaoke looking for me
Infamous hangovers, adjust earthy
Grown from well rounded features
While dust rolls over the big dipper

Sound checks, waiting at backstage doors
Silken sheets become a little soaked
With laced pulsating hysteria
Learning to hate being single-handed
But not hungry

Closing distance with heavy petting
Climbing out some wide mouthed jar
Of sweet summer dreams
Green fools, under orange counties

Like throbbing adult spam
Slapping me hard across the floor
For no reason, I simply don’t care
Can you say, “No Annual Fees”?
Are you the missing link?

Six years of balancing transfers
On the Pennsylvania TPK
I’m bankrupt, and lookin for the linkage
At the bottom of our page
Collecting pink dogwoods

For that white picket fence around our ocean
Slow burning

I build castles for a living
grand and tall
and watch the faces of children
when they become knights and ladies
crossing the moats
and leaving the dragons behind

then I wake up
and look around the cave
and see where my firey breath
has burned the moss and roots
and all the children are really in heaven

I feel this deeply, LeeJ.  Sad, but written
well the sting.
