Night came on padded feet
as a desert chill covered
a star filled blackened eve
as a wanderer slumbered.

Such was he this wanderer
who traipsed the desert floor.
A true sage among men
in search of treasure’s lore.

To find the gold and jewels
beneath the shifting sands.
To walk a course kept on
the palms of weathered hands.

No love does live within
a heart of beating steel.
No words will ever flow
in chosen thoughts reveal.

For through his eyes you see
a darkness that withheld
a lost love’s destiny
where tears no longer welled.

And as the rising dawn
awakes the serpent's rest
a shadow rises tall...

alone he walks his quest.

~ This loving 'angel' would be up for the task! I love a challenge! ~ to breathe love into that heart of steel.

There is hope for him! At least his heart is still beating!
