"Worrying is like  rocking a chair, it gives you something to do with your time but it doesn't get you anywhere."

If I could change the world by all my worrying
How good my world would almost seem to be
If I could wind back time or truth by flurrying
Would all that extra wisdom set me free?

For each of us is given this one perfect day
A fragment of a moment or an hour
And why should I forget to kneel, or not to say
I'm thankful for the  budding, opening, flower

If I could solve life's problem with anxiety
I'm sure the world would be a perfect place
And if the world was run on all my piety
The cares and woes would go without a trace

For each of us has time that we can call our own
We do not know just what tomorrow brings
And we shall reapin sorrow all the seeds we've sown
When we become obsessed by self and things

If I could move the hearts of men by wondering
And stop the wars because I really care
Why would I need to feel this time of sundering?
Why would I want to pray if God's not there?

For God has set his image in the firmament
I see his face no matter where I go
And he has given promises, more permanent
It must be truth for he has made it so

If I could bring back times that were much happier
I'd do it in an instant don't you see
Or introduce new answers that were snappier
I'd cause the sun to shine eternally

But I am just a human and my best intent
Can never match the plans he has in store
I do not have to worry, for his will is spent
On ensuring that I have the best and more

So I will sit beneath his wing, not worrying
About the fortunes that this life may bring
And I will find in stillness, not in scurrying
His whispered words are cause for me to sing

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

keithy, this entire poem is wisdom and knowledge but and it was difficult, but I believe this tugged at my heart the most

For each of us has time to call our own
We do not know just what tomorrow brings
And we shall reap all of the seeds we've sown
When we become obsessed by self and things

Wow...what clarity streams from your hearts muse....lovely writing sir...thank you

The worrywart's theme song... *S* I love this beautiful reminder that worrying doesn't solve anything... even as I know I won't stop! *S*

As I read this excellence and always... my thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend...

Keth, it won't keep me from fretting, which I've been doing all morning, but thanks for the pearls of wisdom.  I'll take them to heart now, and try to simmer down a bit.  Oh, and a very nice meter to this one too, to go with the excellent rhyme!

Woven as a beautiful prayer shawl filled with threads of wisdom and faith.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
