What when news passes from mouth to mouth, "Superman's dead"!
as if news took on a life of its own from something read
with a shrug of the shoulders life goes on
is to say the least
it doesn't quite account to explain causes or the nature of the beast...

Superman was portrayed by an actor larger than life
suffered an accidental fall from a horse
he invested so much time to fight for quadraplegic causes
someone might say that he worked his heart to terrific strain
another might say he succumbed to years of accumulated pain.

The fact is that he represents an example for
the disabled and abled too,
by his continued fight to regain a sense of autonomy in the human zoo.
to continue a life as dignified as possible,
with the physical restrictions imposed by spinal injuries,
in a life dominated by those that walk and debate issues
but might have less worth when it comes to grey matter...

You have placed the true meaning of "Superman" down in script and done so eloquently.  Very well said and written superbly.  Your message is only shadowed by the quality of the write.

I doubt seriously that they could have picked a better man to recreate the image of Superman...

he gave us his best performance in real life.

I remember the first "Superman" of black and white days...he was weak in reality...

May the courage and the efforts that Christopher Reeve portrayed in real life, be taken up and beyond where he left them...my thoughts and prayers to his wife and children...may they carry on his goals...

Tremendous write...thank you

Mr. Reeve brings to mind, a vast example of goodness which stands tall among not only our children, but also for us. Also, watching the dedications for him on TV, made me believe in how very small my trials and tribulations have been...next to his...they were nothing...
He was indeed a super man!

I know he came to speak at the University of Montreal some years back and was honored there...may he be a inspiration for others
who have endured the same or similar disability.
