i am pretending today
to do the laundry
so i can spend a moment with you

not exactly a private moment
but heck,
any way i can today
is worth the effort and the pretense

and this moment
is all i am sure
i really have

so i am pretending to do
the laundry today,
just to be with you

i had to come clean
with this

I've done this as well, as times...all I wanted to do was keep the peace...try to make the relationship better...even if it meant admitting that I was wrong, when I truely believed I wasn't. She didn't appreciate the gesture, nor was willing to try.

That is what your poem insighted me...and a very good poem at that. I was wrong for not standing by my beliefs, instead I wanted to keep peace.
