Why is it
the planted seed
doesn’t flourish as easily
as the rampant weed?

I’ve yet to understand why
the sky is blue,
‘though I’ve read a bit of physics
and even listened to
those who supposedly know
the whys and the wherefores’
of the universe.

And yet here I sit,
watching seeds wither and die
and cannot fathom why

Love

is not enough
to make everything
or everyone
bloom.

Hiya Kacy! You're reminding me of the Patti Smyth & Don Henley song "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough".  God knows I sang along with that one over more than a few beers...

OK, so let's go sing another beer tune. LOL, did you know, I love Don Henley?!

Kacy- I really enjoyed this. Weeds smell funny... I can prove that... but love smells so sweet until you crash from learning too much information and then your heart is broken.

Love is kind, love is mean.. but this poem means a lot to me and it really brought forth some intensity and stirred my heart and brought me to see, that there is beauty in a weed.

You are right Kel, there IS beauty in a weed, and to discover it is a blessing, though sometimes it is hidden in disguise. Thanks for reading.

The weed is eaten by birds for need
The flower is for show
The sky at some point will through pollution only be grey

We take seeds and decide
where they should be
The seeds we put down decide

The birds drop seeds to where they have survived before and will grow again

We think we can change nature
But nature changes us

Love

is not enough
to make everything
or everyone
bloom.

Yes

I sound like I didn't enjoy your words - yes I did - very much, but words should make you think and yours did.
