A Matter of Choice

Choice is not always a matter of choice
But a matter of conscience
A matter of heart and soul
A matter of life’s chosen course
It is a decision already decided
A heartbeat already sounded
A wave already foaming on the sand

It is a die already settled onto the table of destiny
It is a word that has already passed
Through the lips of morals and principles
It is a petal whose contour and color
Has already  been determined by its genus

It is a cloudy mist heavy laden
With life giving waters
That has released its first droplet
Onto the parched earth
It is dry soil of a drought thirsty field
Having tasted of moisture
An act that cannot be rescinded
A word that cannot be taken back
A falling drop that cannot
Reverse its course

Sometimes choice is not a choice
But a reaffirmation of faith
A stamp bearing the crest of ones upbringing
A reflection of ones face
A silhouette of one’s demeanor
A photograph of one’s spirit

Truth is written in these words, sometimes choice is not a choice, but a given.

You are such the wise one...I think whenever I am struggling with a "choice" I need only to listen to your wisdom!

Though not the beauty of your normal meter and rhyme, a splendid effort. Enjoyed.

Hiya Liz and good Morning.

There is not one line in here which I could pick out as a favorite, as each word rings loud and clear...and what a wonderful topic to sit down and discuss

Reading this reaffirms my assumptions about you...we think alike...for I to believe there are no lines to this topic, but a deepness waiting to be discovered by many.  Our society so lacks education and understanding of this nature.  If people would understand this, if I had understood this then....perhaps we'd all have done things a lot differently in raising our children.

I see the impact on my son...what he choses to believe and what is...and perhaps us all.  Liz, a powerful write...right!  Thank you dear one for your brilliant perception and understanding.  Cannot wait to talk again.

Luv ya...me
