Winter’s Morn
inspired by December's Morn
Derived from Summer’s Morn

Overhanging decorated mistletoe
Beckoned holly to dance on hanging silver
Looking into your eyes
A crimson mess
Swirling your belly beneath your feet
Matching yourself to one alone
After a very happy feast
Plump as a turkey
Believing in trust
You took the word
And did not parry the thrust
Now it is Christmas
And you wander alone
Sights and signs
For you must atone
Catching your hair on low hanging holly
You have nothing but for Christmas
And holly

In a world
You have everything you desired
In this world
A fight to be admired
Flowing your hair to match your dress
And the love of your eyes
Was deep, sad and warm

I saw the tilt of your nose
Light the smile of your lips
The love of belonging
In your own time and space
A deep laughter in your throat
On a winter’s morn
And my embrace

.... i don't know what to say because this piece has my emotions all over the place. the images i get in the beginning are so strong and i'm not sure i see what you want me to see, or if they're my own....

either way i'm obviously moved by what i'm reading, since i'm rambling on like this.. (i'm sorry)

you've moved me... to want to read this again and again.
i wanted to send you an email, since you don't have yours as an option would you be so kind as to use the link in my post and write me so i can ask you a question.

thank you.

Snow

My email is davepage@dial.pipex.com.

Your words jogged something that made go back to rewrite something I deleted a long time ago and hadn't the heart to rewrite.

It was an original idea for a young girl pregnant walking with only the stalls to cheer her up - an old christmas theme, but I wanted it to have a happy ending.

Your words somehow clicked me to go back and re-write it and the words derived from Summer's Morn came back.

Dave

i saw the pregnant girl, it was a lonely image.

if my words made you go back, i'm thrilled.

the entire poem wants the reader to re-read
but this part shone...I saw you, take a woman's chin in your hand, turn her to your eyes and looking deeply she knew you, you her, for a long time, on your first meeting...a gentle stroke of recognition, firmaments ago, until the knowledge of true understanding grew together for you both

Lovely writting David!

Margherita

I wanted to capture the joy, the fear but that trust.

Maybe a song but with what music.

Thanks Margherita for like Lee you make me think more than I thought I could.

Love Dave

LeeJ

As usual Lee you make me think.

Eyes lightning to flash
Understanding that does not restore trust
Words holding air
Thrusts
Pride that waits for no man
But silver and holly in her hair
Placed by time and smiles
To a man who failed
To know
His joy

Yes, you left hope, and more.
Enjoyed this one very much, Dave...
not only that Snow inspired you to go back
and recapture your own thoughts,
but that you were inspired so well, enough
to share with us all.

Thank you.

Thanks Sunshire and every one else

I remember from a kid walking those stalls and looking at the lights, holly and everything that makes a Christmas
