It would seem that I had this inclination
to write a sort of poetic declaration.
I asked my muse to vist, if she was so inclined
but she so chose to graciously decline.
With my thoughts then away she ran;
but I can still write...I think I can....

My muse was determined that I wouldn't write,
Ah! She knows me better, I just had to fight!
Through the words I painfully muddled
she laughed at me, but onward I struggled.
I reached through my heart, straight into my soul
{you see, she thought she had taken complete control!}

Each time she'd steal a thought and try to run away
another new word eased through to come into play.
She was tough, there was surely no doubt,
but she needed to learn what I was all about!
We battled ferociously throughout at times
while she tried to steal my well thought out rhymes!

NO, I would not give up, nor would I give in.
This time wasn't hers, I was going to win....

So I now present this as my final assertation~

I've still written my poetic declaration!!

It's better than I could have planned..
it's made me who I am...

...and a mighty fine "poetic declaration" it be!

You write well with ~ and without ~ your muse!

Very a-musing! ~Written sans muse!

Smiling at you!

Smiling at you -  my words too have been stolen as I think to write a poem and nothing inspires me - I guess I shall just have to stand up and take control -  thanks for the inspiration

You GO GIRL!  And I am pleased to have been
one small part of the team that fought off
that muse...

You tell that muse what to do and when...

I know at times mine takes a vacation.
Excellent write!

Like you Donna, I've been at war with my muse,
but I think I might just be breaking out of the blues.

(thank gawd, 'bout time)

Life is hard, but it's all we've got, eh?
Anyway, I enjoyed reading you,
I always do.

Hugs gentle one~
