Common Ground

A distance
bloodletting time born to
decades further than miles could esteem
or envision through a dead street
mannequin’s vacant gaze at crosswalks
paved from love; clotted
scabs healing wounds styled
over barbed wire barriers to
landscaped word verses dewdropped
to prism’s reflected pools eyeing
the beholder treading lightly
the in between of possession

new ways for me....

Whoa...this is a complex read and I am tucking it in my library to ponder another time. Very well done Robert! hugs, Chris

good poetry shouldn't slip so quickly.
