somebody's dungeon

It's brick and mortar
thick, impenetrable,

something you didn't know.

Something I'd never show.

Your words fell, dead
heavy as lead,
before ears could hear,
my dear.

I've come too far
left too many behind
oft dealt with your kind
and I built the wall
  impenetrable.

You can't go over
under, or through,
there's no way in
not ever for you...

so these tears
that you see
they're not part
  of me.

Just the rain,
just the rain.

Oh, I felt your words to my very core. I too, in the past, had built impenetrable walls to prevent me from crumbling.

I was pleased to see your name pop up! I was beginning to worry about you! ~ and perhaps I had good reason...

Lending you a shoulder ~ and an ear.

Hi Linda

Sometimes life is simply wonderful. Sometimes it's not. Lately, it's not.

This poem was written over a month ago. I've only written maybe 4 in the past 6 months or so. My muse left when life got tough. She always was a coward.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and for being so kind. Hopefully, and one can never say for sure these days, I will be writing again soon.

Anne, I'm sorry to hear that you are going through some difficult times. They do, however, have a way of making the good times even sweeter.

Perhaps you could bring in a muse that is stimulated and inspired by adversity. Your other muse deserves a rest after all the fine writes she has been a party to.

As the saying goes, "The darkest comes before the dawn!"

May your dawn be just around the corner!

Loving hugs,
Linda

I've built such walls... and also faced them... both situations feel hopeless. *S*

It's good to see you posting, my friend! *S*
