Near golden sunsets

Existence short, as is such,
Life will trick my eyes.

As hope soon fades
and I've lost touch,
the truth, of course, a lie;
I'll reach out,
with hope elapsed,
weak will mere instinct belies.

A long-frayed life line,
far beyond my sight,
bobs short among the waves.
And I, bereft, to drift and die,
too long lost for thoughts to save.

It has all begun to run afoul.
Night precedes a dying day.
I will follow, in unhallowed ground,
and inevitably slip away.

You paint a beautiful picture of somber thoughts indeed.  Well written.  KJ

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Oh my, dear Masked Intruded, indeed a solecism....maybe even a soulecism.  I hope this is just musing.  Yano, I've come to believe truths are duplicitous and so are lies.  In the end....we have to walk a very fine line....you address so many philosophical questions in this short, unhappy verse.  Hope you will have brighter days, Phil.   ........jo
