There is a secret place where I go
A secret place that only I know
To break free of a world so cold

These tears can never be undone
But they can be forgotten for a time
When I step outside of the lines

A deadened feeling runs throughout
My body until the pain dissolves
I sit back and watch my skin crawl

The daylight darkens and grows dim
And all my troubles just disappear
As I float higher up into the air

The familiar sadness and sorrow
Seem to separate and fade away
Though, they'll revisit another day

The numbness, in time, wears off
And everything comes back to me
My secret place is where I want to be

We see much, observe little, and perceive less.

Your Secret Place sounds like a very special place! We each should have one!

Enjoyed this.  We all have our secret placed, some visible, some not.

'tis true, we do have our own secret places.  When I was young it was a roof top.  Oh the hours spent there over looking the fields of alfalfa, listening, and letting my soul wander amongst the clouds where no sorrow lay.

This brought back memories of my secret hiding place in the pine trees.  (Sometimes a little sappy!)  Getaways are nice.

I guess we all have a secret place.

We see much, observe little, and perceive less.
