Emerald needles, fragile, fresh. Stretching up, facing the sky unfolding tender branches under the sun Baby forcing your way up from beneath the concrete How long little tree will you stay? How long before man chops you down? ignoring your beauty for You are a pest interfering with the prosperity of man |

Thank you everyone for your comments - I really appreciate them Ice - as I was writing, I was thinking about how many people are treated like this little tree. But the amazing thing is its resilience to being forced into such a small unwelcoming place - and how beautiful it actually is |
