To Bid Time Return

Copyright 2004 by:  Mark V Sheldon

Sometimes, it pauses…
just long enough to remember
or relive in slow-motion collage

The style may be identical
or the color the same
and for a moment, you’re there

As your heart sinks
faster than it beats
the score crescendos

The melody sustains
juxtaposed images
and scenes from before

Perhaps it was a scent’s
striking at your nerve
venomously absent

Clear of all obstructions
a straight line of sight
into the jugular of recall

A passionate elixir indeed
suspending the present
with an act of know more

To bid time return
and play out its course
the way your script intended...

You CAN make a difference, but first you should learn how: http://educate-yourself.org/intro.shtml

Clear of all obstructions
a straight line of sight
into the jugular of recall

especially liked that part but overall
the entire poem was excellent!  Adding

A clear and present danger...run!

Good morning

From start to finish, a captivating connection. Each line delivers the next. Very smooth.

slow-motion collage -- gotta love that line.  The entire piece flows, like sweet memories.
