Dear God hear my prayer today.
For my unborn baby went away.
It's name or face I'll never know.
No smile or laugh, but still a soul.
A nameless wonder left me Lord.
I know not what you had in store,
For this tiny piece of me.
Maybe one day my eyes will see.
But today, oh Lord, I beg of you,
Tell me what I'm supposed to do.
Without something I never truly had.
Still without it's soul, my soul is sad.
My life will go on, I'll continue to grow,
Inside my heart I'll always know.
Still I ask you God, before I go,

Please God take my babys soul!

Written for a dear friend whom I care deeply about. I pray she gets through a rough time in her life and I'm always here if she ever needs me, especially now.

This is so sad. Your friend will love this...and I am sorry for her loss. It's wonderful that she has a friend like you to stand by her.

You are a true friend indeed, devinmaria, to share your friend's pain in her time of need. Helping her have the strength to get through this is noble.
As for the poem, it is very heart-piercing and emotionally wrenching. I felt every word from the beginning.

very tradgic, but the compassion and dedication for your friend shines thru in every word, sadly beautiful prayer devin.

thank you all for the kind words. my friends are all very dear to me but especially this one friend. you all have it wrong though, it is not she who is lucky to have a friend like me, it is i who am lucky to be able to be there and be a friend to her. thank you all for the replys.
