Whirlpool

At what point
did my marriage
Turn into the
whirlpool
That threatens to
pull me under?

Can’t you see
that I’m in over my head?
I’ve been sucked in
And I can’t get out.

I’m drowning.
Going under for the third time.
Won’t someone save me?
Please!

They say if you stop struggling
It’s the best way to die.
Just give in to the complacency
That they call life.
That’s all I have to do
to find the answer  I’m searching for.
Give in,
Give up.
So I do.
And I welcome death.
Only she can bring me Peace.

Well Tara, I certainly can relate to this.  I don't want to give advice in either direction here, but I will say it was only the death of my marriage, my conscience decision to give up...that I was able to really start to experience life.  You captured the helplessness here well...truly it is like drowning to be in such a relationship.  I wish you every happiness, I hope all turns out well somehow for you.

It was the death of my marriage.  I wrote this one only after I got myself out of it.  Life is going well for me Michael, do not worry.  I have pulled myself out of the whirlpool, fought back against the tide.

Thank you, Bojopy. Glad you enjoyed it.

 It matters not how strait the gate;
How charged with punishments the scroll;
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I know that feeling Tara when you just grow weary of the struggle and you don't want anymore.   You wrote a nice account of your experience.   James
