Sitting in Michael's Lap

There is
A place –
A sweet, lonely place

The wind complains into my ears
Caressing my hair
My skin
And cold like stone,
The stone below me – the stone
That is me ...

And there, atop
That lonely spire, gazing upon
The unquiet sea,
I stand in quiet reflection
Of darkness above ...
Below ...
(Within)

There is a peace
(Numb)
That fills me – I am content;
Not as a lover
Who finds forever in another's eyes
Not as child
Who looks ahead
Not as an elder
Who looks behind ...

I am content
As is the stone beneath me;
That has stood for time uncounted
Gazing upon the unquiet sea ...
Awaiting
That future
When it crumbles into her
Ready embrace ...

 You cannot choose the way of your death, but the path you choose will determine its own end.

Free verse suits you well, Kess.  You should continue to expand your writing in this area.  Love you imagery and symbolism.

Yes, I would say this suits you well too. I greatly enjoyed it. It really allows you to feel the mellowness of simple contentment.

Indeed my friend you do well with free verse but my opinion is suspect so...
